Brazilian star Lucas Ribeiro Costa has been rewarded for some fine performances in the colours of Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 26-year-old was named the Premier Soccer League (PSL) Player of the Month for February.
It’s the second time Ribeiro takes home the monthly award this season, after winning one for September/October 2024.
“The Brazilian was involved in 8 goals for his side through finding the back of the net five times and orchestrating three assists,” noted the PSL.
“In addition to being voted the best player for the month, Ribeiro’s solo run in Sundowns’ victory over Orlando Pirates in Tshwane was voted the best goal of the month, marking Ribeiro’s second successive award in the category after winning it in the January period.”

Meanwhile, Sundowns mentor Miguel Cardoso was named Coach of the Month.
“Cardoso, who has enjoyed a great start to his tenure at Mamelodi Sundowns, guided his side to six wins out of seven fixtures, amassing an impressive 18 out of a possible 21 points tally.”
