India is committed to reducing emissions from the automotive industry. By 2030, the country aims to reduce its emissions intensity by 45 per cent and by 2070 it intends to fully transition to green technologies. This is reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.
To achieve this goal, India has developed an e-mobility Research and Development Roadmap that focuses on four key areas: improving batteries, developing electric vehicles, manufacturing and recycling materials, and improving charging systems. This was disclosed by Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India.
According to the source, the country recognises the importance of developing green transport and is looking to develop its own electric vehicle and battery production system, as well as charging infrastructure.
