Applications for the third international contest “Green Eurasia” will be accepted until 31 March. The event is aimed at finding effective solutions in the field of climate adaptation, greenhouse gas emission reduction and sustainable development. The organisers are the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) and the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). TV BRICS will be an international media partner of the event.

General Director of ASI Svetlana Chupsheva emphasised that the competition promotes international cooperation and the exchange of advanced technologies.

“Climate challenges concern all countries of the world. […] We invite partner countries to demonstrate their state-of-the-art developments to solve common climate problems” – Svetlana Chupsheva, General Director of ASI.

Participation is open to public and private institutions, authorities, non-profit organisations, as well as individual specialists from EAEU and other countries. One organisation can submit up to five projects in different nominations. Registration takes place on the official website of the competition.

According to Andrey Slepnev, Minister for Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission “Green Eurasia” expanded its geography in 2024 – the event was attended by representatives of 12 countries, including states outside the EAEU. The results of this year’s competition will be summarised at the Eurasian Economic Forum in Minsk.

Applications are accepted in 10 nominations covering a wide range of climate solutions:

  • “Governmental and corporate practices and financing in the field of climate”;
  • “Climate monitoring and management of climate active substances”;
  • “Sustainable Energy”;
  • “Climate-neutral transportation systems and solutions”;
  • “Circular economy”;
  • “Climate-resilient cities and infrastructure”;
  • “Climate Resilient Cities and Infrastructure’;
  • “Climate-oriented agriculture and forestry”;
  • “Water resources in new climate conditions”;
  • “Education and human recources in the field of climate”.

Experts note that the “Green Eurasia” project helps not only to identify the best climate initiatives, but also promotes international dialogue in the field of ecology. Last year, the competition gathered over 300 practices, of which 57 became winners and finalists.
