Foreign Guests Arrive At Great Hall Of The People For FOCAC Opening Ceremony

Leaders of African countries and international organizations arrived at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to attend the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) on Thursday morning.

Chinese President Xi is set to deliver a keynote speech at the ceremony.

The three-day FOCAC summit, which opened on Wednesday, is the largest diplomatic event hosted by China in recent years, with the highest attendance of foreign leaders.

Themed “Joining Hands to Advance Modernization and Build a High-Level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future,” the event aims to strengthen friendship and outline future cooperation between the two sides.

Various leaders, including Foreign Minister of Angola Tete Antonio, President of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Vice President of Benin Mariam Chabi Talata, Vice President of Republic of Cote d’Ivoire Tiemoko Meyliet Kone, Vice President of Mauritius Eddy Boissezon, Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat, Nigerien Prime Minister Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and Prime Minister of Egypt Mostafa Madbouly, arrive at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, and exchanges greetings with Chinese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Sun Weidong
