Last year, more than 31 million people visited Dubai’s urban parks and recreation areas, marking a 7 per cent increase compared to the previous year. This was reported by the emirate’s municipality, according to Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.
Public parks attracted the highest number of visitors – 20.8 million. Meanwhile, the emirate’s five largest parks, including Zabeel, Mushrif, Al Mamzar Beach, Dubai Creek, and Safa, welcomed a total of 6.69 million guests. The Quranic Park recorded 1.8 million visitors, while the Dubai Frame saw 1.59 million. Additionally, nearly 1.5 million people used cycling tracks, mountain biking trails, and walking paths in the parks.
“The remarkable visitor numbers recorded in 2024 reflect the appeal of Dubai’s public parks and facilities as dynamic leisure and tourism destinations, designed to meet the highest international standards. Our approach ensures that these spaces serve as integrated models of sustainability and inclusivity, enhancing the overall quality of life in Dubai,” said Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency.
In 2024, the municipality organised 1,283 events, including festivals, sports competitions, and fairs. Authorities also implemented sustainable projects and upgraded facility management systems, improving efficiency to 98 per cent.
