AmaZulu has confirmed the departure of Vusumuzi Vilakazi, who was co-coach at the club.

According to Usuthu, Vilakazi has resigned due to take time out to resolve “personal matters”.

However, African Times has established that Vilakazi could be joining Marumo Gallants, as part of their new technical team.

“Club President Sandile Zungu has accepted Vilakazi’s request to be relieved of his duties with immediate effect. This transition leaves Arthur “Phakimpi” Zwane as the sole Head Coach, going forward,” reads AmaZulu’s statement.

In the past 18 months, Vilakazi has worked at three different clubs; Chippa United, Richards Bay and AmaZulu.

Vilakazi is now linked with a switch to Marumo Gallants, who have parted ways with Dan Malesela and confirmed talks with Moroccan coach, Abdeslam Ouaddou.

Marumo’s new technical team is yet to be finalized.
