BRICS Tourism Working Group Reviews Strategies to Attract Digital Nomads

At the first online meeting of the BRICS Tourism Working Group, chaired by Brazil, representatives of the BRICS countries discussed key areas of the industry’s development. They paid special attention to the sustainability of the sector and the attraction of digital nomads professionals working remotely and travelling around the world. This is reported on the website of the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism.

The discussion considered initiatives to improve tourism infrastructure and quality of services, as well as the development of public-private partnerships in BRICS countries. The Brazilian authority presented a report on the state of regional tourism in the association states, proposing solutions to boost the industry.

“We must endeavour to further strengthen the tourism sector as a key instrument of cooperation. We are convinced that the BRICS working group will contribute to positive changes in our countries and around the world,” Ana Carla Machado Lopes, Executive Secretary of the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism, said at the meeting.

The next meeting of the group will be held in Brasilia on 9 May 2025. Then, on 12 May, the BRICS tourism ministers’ meeting will be held in the capital of the republic, where the heads of the agencies will sum up the results of their work and adopt a joint declaration.
