The BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry has opened an office in the UAE, reports ANI, a partner of TV BRICS.
“The opening of the UAE chapter is more than just an event. It shows a commitment to unprecedented co-operation and prosperity within the alliance. It is a step for the development of economic diplomacy in the UAE,” said Ansh Virmani, Director of the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry UAE Chapter.
BRICS CCI Vice Chairman Sameep Shastri assured of the organisation’s “unwavering commitment” to promote global partnership, bilateral trade and boost economic growth.
Earlier, the 42nd meeting of the New BRICS Development Bank was held in Dubai. During the meeting, it was decided to allocate funds for three projects. The council approved a loan of up to US$500 million to India for Gujarat’s rural road development programme. It aims to improve access to health and education centres.
The UAE joined the alliance on 1 January 2024. The opening of the BRICS CCI office in that country marks a turning point in the economic trajectory of the region, paving the way for co-operation in many sectors, the publication said.
