Brazil’s sugar exports in October this year reached a new record, surpassing the figures recorded in the previous year. This is reported by Brasil 247, a partner of TV BRICS.
According to the Foreign Trade Secretariat (SECEX), this value corresponds to an increase in sugar purchases from Brazil by India, Indonesia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.
Brazilian sugar exports reached 3.73 million tonnes, almost 1 million tonnes more than in the same period last year.
In total, the country exported 32.14 million tonnes of sugar from January to October 2024, more than the 31.3 million tonnes for the whole of 2023, according to official data.
