South Africa’s Patrice Motsepe has retained his position as CAF President for four more years until 2029.

Motsepe, a billionaire with mining interests, has been at the helm since March 2021 and on Wednesday, he was re-elected at the 14th CAF Extraordinary General Assembly in Cairo, Egypt.

He’s also one of FIFA’s vice-presidents by virtue of his CAF position.

Motsepe has been credited with ensuring CAF’s finances are in order and bringing on board major sponsorships, including TotalEnergies.
