The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has lost another prominent member after she resigned from its ranks and surrendered her seat in the National Council of Provinces in Cape Town.

Nolubabalo “Babsie” Mcinga resigned today.

She is King Dalindyebo’s wife, the Abathembu nation’s ruler in the Eastern Cape. The King is also a member of the EFF.

Mcinga did not state her reason for resigning and what will happen next regarding her political career.

She only confirmed the resignation to the African Times via text message this morning.

“I’ve resigned from the EFF,” she said, briefly.

In the past few months the EFF has lost its former Deputy President and Parliamentary Chief Whip, Floyd Shivambu who joined the MK Party.

It also lost Mzwanele Manyi and former Public Protector, Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane who is now the leader of the MK Party in Mpumalanga Province.

The EFF is yet to comment on the resignation of Mcinga.
