Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, held a meeting with representatives of a company developing an electronic platform for medical tourism.

Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that the meeting was held in line with the country’s presidential directives to accelerate the development of the e-platform. This is reported by Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.

The initiative aims to showcase Egypt’s medical tourism capabilities and attract foreign tourists seeking medical services in the country, reinforcing Egypt as one of the key points on the global medical tourism map, which is part of Egypt’s 2030 sustainable development strategy.

During the meeting, the minister was briefed on the detailed presentation of the services that the platform will provide. In particular, it is expected to use artificial intelligence technologies to recommend users, as well as introduce advanced features that will help Egypt take a leading position in the medical tourism sector. The platform will be multilingual and provide a unique user experience.

The minister also highlighted the need to attract Egyptian doctors working abroad to provide medical services to foreign patients, and emphasised the importance of verifying the qualifications of doctors wishing to join the platform.

According to the ministry official, the platform will offer booking services that allow patients to search for medical professionals and facilities, as well as provide detailed information about hospitals and treatment services. In addition, educational materials about tourist attractions in places where patients receive medical services will be available.
